Emily Shultz was born and raised in Algonquin. She graduated with honors from the John Marshall Law School in 2012. After law school, she began her legal career at a nationally known litigation firm in Chicago that focused on the defense of corporations and individuals in complex civil litigation in jurisdictions throughout the county. Since then, she has represented clients across a broad range of other legal areas, such as mass torts, real estate, estate planning, and family law.
Before attending law school, Emily graduated Summa Cum Laude from Northern Illinois University with a B.A. in Political Science. On May 3, 2021, she was elected to be a member of District 45 School Board and was re-elected in 2025.
