Laurence (Larry) A. Wilbrandt was born and raised in Crystal Lake, graduating from Crystal Lake High School in 1970. Larry went on to earn two degrees in urban and regional planning, University of Illinois (Champaign-Urbana) (Bachelors – 1974) and the University of Wisconsin, Madison (Masters – 1976).

Larry worked with three cities as a city planner (including Crystal Lake and West Dundee) before going to the John Marshall Law School, graduating with High Honors in 1986. He then joined his father, Robert A. Wilbrandt, Sr. and brother, Robert A. Wilbrandt, Jr. working at the family’s law practice, which was founded in 1972.

For the last 35 years, Larry has practiced law in McHenry and Kane Counties, doing everything from Adoptions to Zoning cases. He now focuses on Real Estate, Wills and Trusts, and Probate matters while his son, Daniel J. Wilbrandt (representing the 3rd generation working for the firm) concentrates on criminal defense cases.

Larry and his wife of 45 years, Vicki, live in West Dundee where they raised their daughter , Emily (architect) and son, Dan (attorney). In his spare time, Larry coached basketball, refereed high school basketball for 30 years, and now coaches the West Dundee neighborhood men’s softball team (which Dan plays on).
